I'm glad you enjoyed your day, Carol. However, I'm stunned that, unless you're not telling us everything, it appears to have been chocolate free. Can this be possible? By the way, what about the Kendal Mint cake? -----Original Message----- From: Carol O'Connor - Email Address: missbossyboots33@xxxxxxxxx Sent On: 24/08/2012 08:27 Sent To: guide chat - Email Address: guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guide.chat] My Kendal Trip Good morning all wow what a lot of travelling involved in yesterday. Well as you all know I had to get up very early abut 6.30am have bath wash hair and breakfast. got dressed Waited for Taxi which was booked for 8.15am Guess what The taxi bleeepp and bleep outside so I just took chance want down opened main doors. I shouted Hello stood their my neighbour came out said carol what are you shouting hello for I told ted my neighbour waiting for taxi he said he is their now but going I went mad oh the blooming cheek So Ted rang on his mobile phone for me bless him told the people off in the reception. so came back 5 minutes later Guess what after all that coach was waiting but wait for it, I got on coach only to find some volunteers not turned up. so our coach left instead of 9am he left at 9.30am. Typical after all that rushing and panaking. Then we had to pick another deafblind group up in Bury Library so when we all arrived in Kendl in Lake Distric behind sheduale plus driver couldn't find the musuiem wer going first. Anyway despite all that we all had great time Thank goodness We walked along shops to musuiem its only small building. My volunteer was called Susie she was brilliant with guiding tekniques wow she was good at describing too she walked slowly with me too as I walk like a snail hahahahahaha We entered Museiem its the history one of the romans desplaying their metal heavy helments wow we tried the helments on jesus nearly fell under the floor hahahahahaha took it off quick made out of strong metal inside because its metal could hurt the soldiers so they had to put some kind of padding materials over ther heads. also we looked at the almar they wore on their bodies my god very heavy wow need to people to carry them Also they showed us padded jackets with thousands of little metal rings joined together like tiny loops wow all put on by the soldiers themselves took days to make it really really heavy. we picked it up very very heavy so imagine having to wear the metal helment and tha kind of jacket thousands and thousnds of years ago then looked at the ax they used man made himself ax they hit you with you might know what I am talking about. inagin a hammer but its ax they use to hit one and other with to kill anyway they were so smooth they got the rocks out of the mountains to take to some yard to make these themselves to kill their enimmies in them days they din't care how brutal they were oh yuck we felt pottery pictures they make but very very heavy nobody can even lift it not few of us all calved goes on the walls believe it or not in the 16th century we felt real leather sandle wow smelt proper real leather wow had rope in middle ties up their legs if you know what I mean their. under neath they are metal soles because the soldiers had to walk for twenty miles a day every day. wow must of been uncomfortable their boots were same but goes over the knees metal soles too it was very interesting Then came out the history museuem .
