I had a lovely day out yesterday it was amazing. Well Barbara picked me up at 12 PM. Well she told me she had a surprise for me as soon as we got in the car. Oh I got all excited and said what is it? Well she wouldn't tell me as she said I would find out soon enough. Well we turned up at someone's house and she said we were going to get out. Then she knocked on the door. When the person finally answered the door I had the shock of my life. You won't believe it but it was Ron. My friend who sits near me at the blind clubs. Oh I couldn't believe it when Barbara told me that was my surprise. They both told me Ron was coming to the theatre show with us oh what a lovely surprise. Well Ron phoned us all a taxi to the theatre from his place. This was much better than Barbara having to worry about parking as we were dropped off by taxi at the door not bad going. Well they actually kept it quiet from me about Ron coming with us as they wanted to surprise me. That was Ron's idea how crafty but I love their style. They did very well keeping it quiet and I loved the surprise. It made it a bit more fun for me and gave me a bit of a laugh. I will never forget that moment as long as I live how amazing. Ron arranged it all with Barbara on the quiet not bad going. Well we ate lunch in the theatre cafe. Barbara and Ron had ham egg and chips. Ron had home made soup to start with. I had cheese toasties. I had a good old pot of tea to myself of course. Then Sarah from the blind club and her carer Karen turned up and they got their lunch. Then we all chatted and laughed lots. Then we had to go to get our seats ready for the show starting at 2.30. We were on the balcony it was a very good place to sit we loved it. Well the show was amazing it was all music and singing. There were 3 stars of the show. I even know their names. Neil Sands was the main star of the show, then there were 2 girls Caroline Hodson and Gemma Turner. Oh the girls had amazing voices and Gemma's voice was like an opera singer's voice. They were doing Christmas songs and as the show was called remember when it was old Christmas songs from the 50's and 60's like white Christmas, merry Christmas everyone, Santa baby, rocking round the Christmas tree and lots more. There were even Christmas Carols and we all had fun doing the 12 days of Christmas. Oh we even had an Elvis impersonator come on in the middle of the show he was amazing he sang the wonder of you and another of his songs. Also Neil Sands did a Christmas story and we had to do sound affects for him oh that was so funny we were all in stitches laughing. Barbara told me he was dressed as a reindeer. All the stars were dressed in Christmas costumes and of course kept changing depending on the scenes. Oh it was amazing and I was singing along with them all I was really going for it so if it rains you will know why haha. Ron was loving it too he loves old sing along things it was ideal for him. Well after the show we had another surprise. We got to meet all the stars, shake hands with them and talk to them. We even got a signed picture each how cool is that? Oh that was ideal for us to show our families. Barbara and Karen went over to the stars to get a photo and asked them if they would kindly come over to me and Sarah who were sitting down as we are totally blind and don't like crowds. So they came over to us that was even better. Oh Karen is a lovely carer to Sarah and Barbara is such a lovely friend to me. Well I offered to treat Barbara to her lunch but she said no. Then Ron said he wants to pay for all us ladies lunches he's a true gent for sure but again Barbara said no and I did too. Oh dear. So what we did to save any arguments was decide to pay for our own and leave it at that. I will try to treat Barbara again when we are out on our own that will be better. As soon as I knew Ron was with us I knew then that he would want to pay for us all so I stood no chance of treating Barbara so will do it another time. Anyway the show didn't finish till 5 PM they went overtime as we were such a welcoming audience. Neil said they love coming to Grantham ah how lovely. Well then we went to meet the stars and had our signed photos. Then Karen took us all back to Ron's house to drop Ron off and of course to get Barbara's car. After making sure Ron got into his house safe and sound Barbara brought me home. I got home at just gone 6 PM in time for the soaps very good. Oh what an amazing day out. I haven't had such a good time like that in a long time. Oh yes, Pat from the blind club was there with some of her friends and Ken another blind club member was there with his lady. Ray and Pat sent me text they told me the organist was very good at the dance and there were about 109 people there not bad going. Also everyone missed me so will make up for lost time next week. My lovely day out was well worth missing dance for. A lovely treat for me. Love Clare
