Hello All,
I am sending out the weekly crime stats for the Providence Division RA3. For
some of you this will be a new format but hopefully it is beneficial in
keeping you in touch with your community. Please let me know if you need
anything clarified or assistance with another issue.

Tends/ Patterns:
* 100% of the property stolen was left out in plain sight in the
vehicles
* 60% of the cases involved windows smashed
* Highest concentration of incidents was around the SouthPark
Commercial Area
* Incidents occurred during the afternoon around SouthPark Mall and at
night in the neighborhoods
* Portable electronics targeted: 6 GPS's; 2 IPods; 1 Xbox video game;
1 car stereo; CD's; power cord for portable electronics; cell phone

Tends/ Patterns:
* 6 of the 7 reports occurred during the day while people were away
from their homes
* 2 of the cases occurred while the victims were out of town and 1
while the home was vacant because it is for sale
* 4 of the incidents involved the suspect(s) prying open doors and in
3 of the incidents the suspect(s) pried open a window
* Electronics and jewelry were most often targeted
Suspect Info:
A black male; 5' 06"-5' 09" tall; bald head; with a White long sleeve shirt
and blue pants and White tennis shoes was seen on surveillance tape leaving
one of the targeted homes.
A witness advised that she did see a blue colored sedan in one of the
victim's driveway a few days prior to the burglary that occurred there.
There was a report of a blue Lincoln Town Car in the area of another one of
the burglaries.
