Subject: [greatcoxwell] Re: Shops ...
Hi all,
I’m staying with my parents (Johnny and Biddy, Glebe House) at the moment.
Picking up on an earlier message about food deliveries, you might be interested
to know that fresh vegetables are available from Paul Gibbons at Laggots Farm,
which is at the east end of Hinton Waldrist High Street. There is an open shed
there, with an honesty box, and usually no-one around, so perfect for social
distancing. Veg is sold pre-packed in £1/£1.50/£2 bags so bring cash. It’s open
from 9-2. My Dad went there yesterday and came back with some great looking
veg. We also had some pet food delivered from the Pet Shop in London Street,
Faringdon which was handy and Pentti now won’t go hungry for months.
I briefly dropped into Tesco’s and Waitrose yesterday afternoon - I was a
little concerned about Tesco’s handling of social distancing. When using one
of the self checkouts, it required input from one of the shop assistants who
didn’t seem to be as aware of keeping her distance as I’d have liked! Hopefully
they’ll be improvements on that front. Waitrose seemed to have a much better
handle of it (though both shops weren’t busy at that time).

Faringdon Waitrose was fine this early evening, as Jane says things seemed much
calmer and more organised.
We got you some eggs from the farm shop Daphne, Jacqueline will ring you
tomorrow to arrange the drop.
Yes lovely sunshine, enjoy it while it lasts.
cheers

Hi All,
Friends of ours went shopping in Sainsbury’s in Swindon and Waitrose in
Faringdon this morning. They said that both shops were much more organised and
had a better range of stock than last week. They were able to buy nearly
everything on their shopping list from eggs to toilet rolls.
Hope everyone is staying safe and well and enjoying the very welcome sunshine.
Jane
