The motherboad on the computer died last night so we were unable to use the
main scope last night, and. I was using a different abbreviation for SOB
last night.
We set up Silvio's donated Dob, and Don Wrigley brought his scope so we
could observe from the pad. (thanks Ray and Don)
David Douglass came over this morning and we have set up a backup computer
at the bottom of the tower. The power button is on the top front edge.
The display is a larger font, but things are working. We also have some
new eyepieces. We purchased some Orion eyepieces that were on sale at the
end of the year. There are 3 eyepieces with 70 degree field of view, and 2
Stratus eyepieces with 68 degree field of view. They are almost parfocal,
so you may need to do less twisting of the main focus.
We also are 96 viewers away from hitting 100,000. Good chance of hitting
that tonight. I am printing a certificate (if I can get my printer to
accept a new ink cartridge - SOB), and there is a small Hubble 2017
calendar as a prize.
