If the WMI filter is evaluating on a workstation processing the policy, then
that probably won't work. I haven't used the AD provider that WMI provides
so I can't answer this directly, but it seems to me that this would only
work if the filter were being evaluated on a DC. Otherwise, the filter query
would have to be able to query against the domain. Again, I haven't tried
the WMI AD provider so it may be possible.

attribute and then apply a policy based on the results of the query?
