Just keep in mind that run logon scripts synchronously means, "run script #1 to completion before running Script #2" rather than "run scripts #1 and #2 at the same time". With this particular problem, running scripts synchronously is probably less helpful than the "Wait for network" policy or the KB that Jamie refers to.
