Client systems should also be able to get the GPP CSE package from WSUS
(if you're using it). That might be the easiest way to deploy it.

...Or one of our list members, Jakob Heidelberg, wrote a nifty startup
script installation method for it if you'd rather go that route. You can
find that here:

Download.microsoft.com, but its somewhat complicated J. You need to
install the Client Side Extension package on your client systems and
then you need either at least one Vista, SP1 or Server 2008 box with
GPMC enabled, that you can use to edit those settings.

You could also use GP Preferences Registry Extension if you have that
installed!

Hi Katy,

It sits in the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Screen
Saver.Marquee with a value of Text

The easiest way to set it is probably via an ADM template:-

CLASS MACHINE

CLASS USER

            CATEGORY "Marque settings"

                        POLICY Text

                                    KEYNAME "Control Panel\Screen
Saver.Marquee"

                                    PART "Text to display" EDITTEXT

                                                KEYNAME "Control
Panel\Screen Saver.Marquee"

                                                VALUENAME Text

                                    END PART ;Text to display

                        END POLICY ;Text

            END CATEGORY ;Marque settings

Subject: [gptalk] Screensaver GPO

Hi,

Does anyone here know where I would set the wording for the Marquee
screensaver? Can this be done with GPO? I have forced Marquee
screensaver as a default on each machine and the MD wants this to show
our strapline, I'd hate to have to visit every machine!

Thank you

Katy
