Ian-
You need to run the adminpak.msi install while elevated in Vista in order
for this to work. Try opening an elevated command shell and launching the
MSI from there. I am using the 2003 AD U&C snap-in on Vista today. The one
thing you will notice is that the icons for the snap-in are not correct, but
the snap-in itself works.

Having upgraded my workstation to Vista in order to manage other Vista
workstations with GP Objects I now find that AD Users & Computers does not
work with Vista. Does anyone know how to manage users and computers whilst
running Vista?

You?ll also find Adminpak.msi directly on your servers:
%windir%\System32\adminpak.msi for x86 servers
%windir%\SysWOW64\adminpak.msi for x64 servers (since there is no 64 bit
version of adminpak)
