Right, so that is a different permission than software so you should be able
to install printers regardless of the ability to install software, as long
as the users have the right to install printer drivers, which is in security
policy.

Yes I am talking about a printer that would be a new install like a usb
printer that will need the driver installed

What setting did you use to restrict install or uninstall software?
Typically installing printers is a different operation. If the printer is a
new device, that requires driver installs, that is a different and specific
user right (load and uninstall device drivers) from installing user
software.

I have it set so that users can not install or uninstall software.  Is there
a way to keep this setting but make it possible to install a printer that
they may plug in via usb?
