Well as long as their were no basic connectivity problems - DNS issue
would be my guess. Can you resolve addresses for the missing DCs?
Try putting the dc addresses in your local hosts file to check.
I think you can also get issues like this caused by incorrect DNS suffix
- login with full domain name/user account or try just the user account
(which login will presume is in your target domain)
