Without actually looking over the configuration the terminal server's TS configuration console- and having the gpresult logs it is hard to say. There are just too many questions to ask and many configurations that could result in this. For example- what is in the GPOs applied to the actual terminal server computer objects- and is any loopback enabled on any of those policies? What is the configuration set to when you review client redirection using Terminal Server Configuration console? Where are the user objects located in AD with regard to the Terminal Server> and what GPOs are applied to these users? If you want- contact me off the list and we can setup a webex session and I can take a peek to see if we can pin it down quick - but have you checked the event logs on the terminal server computer to check for GPO or logon related errors? All my other settings stick. TS is a 64 bit Windows 2003 server The default printer should be whatever the user wants… I just want it to save that setting, but it reverts it every time. It always makes the first printer in line the default . It is happening to everyone the Policy is applied too. I have the RDP set to map the all local printers to the TS session. It is mapping the printers, but not setting the same one as default. I have windows classic menu forced, but all other settings seem to be sticking. Thanks for your help! Can you see that other settings stick? What OS version is the terminal server? Help me understand specifically what the intended default printer is and what is it reverting to- oh- and is it happening to everyone or just one or a few people? I remember some setting in TS that has to deal with mapping the user's default windows printer but I don't recall if that is in the RDP client or only on W2k8 terminal server or w2k3 but I have seen this before somewhere. Do all other setting changes stick- say going switching between start menu choices- classic and regular? I’ve deleted the local profile and tried to have it rebuild when the user logs in, but the same problem occurs. I logged on as one of the users who is having this problem, set the default printer, then logged off. This is the only thing in the Event Viewer related to logging off: Product: 64 Bit HP BiDi Channel Components Installer -- Configuration completed successfully. At logoff, a temporary profile will be erased. 2) The End User’s local profile is not actually saving/unloading at logoff. In both cases, you should find traces of this information in the local device’s Application Event log.
