A variation of this would help dramatically in subway navigation in big cities as well. It would be a huge project to map the subway lines, but once done it would help a lot. It could even be an extra feature for those that would use it, sort of like the dictionary for the BN is extra.
Have a great day, Alex

Hi all,
This relates to Australia, but is this possible or would this be
possible
with BrailleNote GPS?
Maybe others could give me an opinion on an idea I had.Because the GPS is for vision impaired people, I wonder whether
it would be
possible for rail lines to become a feature you can move
along--similar to a
street. This would make it possible for us to see whether a train
line goes
between two points we are calculating a root for.I guess an example would be for going from Kooyong to Footscray.
You can't
calculate a pedestrian route, because it's too far to walk. You
can't
calculate a vehicle route because you can't drive. But if you
could
calculate a route and the system would allow you to go along a
rail line,
you would be able to see that train is an option for getting
between the two
points.
