So, it will track distance, and if you have a destination set, let u know when ur getting close? So you can be doing anything: email wordprocessor etc, running 7.5, build 31?

Sure is Zach, and depending on the platform you are running on
background announcements could still be heard.

Sendero GPS on a BrailleNote will allow you to task switch back
and
forth between different applications and GPS but you won't get
any
automatic announcements when GPS is not the current
application. Mobile Geo and SenseNavigation can also task switch
to
other applications and I believe you can either query for
information
and or automatically get updates about upcoming turns etc when
following a route for example.
