I have done it before. The only thing I found is that the BN will not charge if the car is off (off the car's battery); it seems to need the motor running. I would use the new-style BN charger (the two-piece model), but I had no problems. This is not a guarantee, just saying my BN didn't blow up. (I was more nervous than I thought possible when I first plugged it in, though).
Have a great day, Alex

Thanks, Alex, that's what I was afraid of, losing everything
before the
recalculation. Are you sure the adapter of which you speak would be safe to use
with the
BN? It sure would be handy. Kathy

I think that recalculating erases all previous route info, and that is the problem. As far as charging goes, Wal-Mart sells a converter that plugs into the car's power jack and can then accept normal (120 volt) plugs.

Hi, I am definitely a happy camper tonight. Our 430 mile trip wentquite well, and recalculating seemed to work pretty well, also. I enjoyed hearing all the details as we moved along, altitude,lat-long,etc. Is there a way to skip down in the list of pois that you get withthe spacef command, if there are hundreds of them, as is true in largecities? Thatwould really be convenient. Also, after recalculating everything, I was hoping that I couldsave theroute and that I would have the entire recalculated route forfuture use.Well, that didn't work for me. All I have is the last littletiny bit. Isthere something I did incorrectly? I wish that there was a car charger for the BrailleNote. Withthe bluetooth on for ten hours, my battery in the BN is really quite low,and itbegan with a full charge. This is indeed a terrific system! Kathy
