I use SAID cards all the time and really like them. I have only once lost one, and that was only temporary. They aren't quite as secure as the cf cards, but I haven't had any big problems with them. They are certainly easier to get in and out. I put books I'm reading on an said card and then just switch tasks if we're on the road somewhere where there's nothing for miles and miles. Like Montana.
