Hello everyone,
I have a special announcement for our friends across the pond over in
the UK and Ireland.
Sendero has just released updated POIs for both the UK and
Ireland! These are the latest 2007.7 European POIs just released
last month from TeleAtlas.
The number of POIs in the UK has jumped from around half a million
POIs to now over 1.25 million POIs! The number of POIs in Ireland
has tripled in size in this release.
GPS 4.01 latest patch has been updated with some new sub categories
for these new UK specific sub categories, so please install the patch
before getting these new POIs.
Here are some of the numbers for the categories now in the UK
Restaurants 90,930
Shops 749178
Hotel / Accommodations 40,071
Entertainment 63,011
and much much more.
Please delete all the old UK & Ireland BPI files you have in your
maps folder and go and download the latest POIs from the mySendero
web site. www.mysendero.com (and click on the Map and POI download link).
You will have to sign in using your serial # and password, and under
the UK drop-down you will find
40UKPOIs.zip, and under the Ireland drop-down you will see an updated
Ireland-40.zip file which has the updated "core" BPI file in it.
The new TeleAtlas pois are named as follows
40UK_core.bpi
40Ireland_core.bpi
I have also removed the extracted RMF map POIs and they are now in a
separate download file which can be found in the "Free
Downloads"section of the MySendero website and scroll down to GPS
Version 4.0 Extra and User POIs

U.K. and Ireland RMF POIs for 4.0: This zip contains over 100,000
POIs. There will be both unique POIs as well as some duplicates in
many categories other than restaurants and hotels. Last updated,
August 16, 2007.
* the new RMF POIs are named as follows
* 400RMF_UK.bpi
* 400RMF_Ireland.bpi
The new POIs in this zip file will contain some duplicates just like
in the USA's extracted map POIs but there are definitely some unique
POIs as well. You can tell if the POI you are looking at is one of
these extracted POIs by doing a detailed description of the POI
(Space P on the BT, or Read P on the QT) and at the end of the
description will be "RMF".
