Virginia,
Please put your message at the top of your email post. If you have a
problem doing so, there are a few people here who could help.
(Unfortunately, using Outlook Express and not having used Eudora, etc., I am
not one of them.) The reason why we prefer 'top posting' is that we read
linearly with our screen readers, from the top down; and manny of us have
already read preceding emails. Do continue to post. Thanks.

Thanks to all of you who submitted emails to me off the list as to my
location.

Several of you guessed the correct country, Chile. Others wisely
looked for POIs with my name on them, guessing that I might be at a
familiar POI. For example, Valle Nevado, which is a ski resort near
Santiago.

I am guessing that some of you might not have entered the lat/lon in
the same format I gave it to you. I provided it in separate degrees,
minutes and seconds. This means you have to enter Degrees, followed
by return, then minutes and so forth. You can enter it as one
expression in the degree field but only if I gave it to you that way.

Some guesses were not very specific like up in the Andes, which is
indeed where I am, just a few kilometers from the Argentina border.

Richard Turner sent me the following and was the closest:
So, would you be somewhere about 52 miles Northeast of Santiago, Chile?
Puerto del Sol is 35.85 Miles south of you.
If this is right, you have an Applebee's Restaurant 43 miles
Southwest of you in Santiago. Have a Steak for me.
You needn't go to the MacDonald's.
They even have a Starbucks.

Nice guesswork Richard. We will set you up with a Sendero freebee,
either an upgrade or something of equivalent value.

One of the zip files has points for many cities around the world. If
you had the one for South America loaded, you would have found a very
small town near me called Rio Blanco. That file comes in pretty handy
in these countries where we don't yet have street maps. There isn't a
point for every city but for most. There are also some pretty good
engines on the Internet where you can put in a lat/lon and find out
what is nearby. We will put together an email about those in the
future. For those of you who wish to read the details of my escapades
here in Portillo Chile, check out the Sendero blog,
http://www.SenderoGroup.com/blog.htm
If it isn't posted yet, it will be shortly.

When the next user POI files are posted, you will also have another
100 points or so for Chile I have recorded on this trip.

MikeHi Mike I am LOL here. There is a web site that has a game call "Where
in the World", there are a couple of astornmomers who are members of the
site. Some have worked ESA site there and people had to fight out where they
are at. Your game is alot like that. I want to play along but problem with
my system keep from trying. I know a few members who might get a bang out of
reading about your adventers, would it be ok to past a link to your site
just to see what there reaction would be? I think your story might help in
some people undstand me.Thanks Virginia Korleski at
