There is no reason that a machine the size of the Braille note can't have the power of a fast processor. There are fast windows computers the size of a Braille & Speak. Gerry

That is why there are laptops. The braille note takers and laptops gives us
a choice of what we want and need out of a portable device. Does that mean
either one is perfect? No, but different people have different needs and
for me, the Braille note meets my portable computing needs.

Actually they wanted to go with the 550 MHz processor but couldn't due
to some cost issues, so they are using a 416MHz processor a whooping
16MHz faster than the PK, but because of the faster IO and bus speeds
of the mPower it is actually a lot faster than 16MHz over the PK.

Notice they don't tell us the speed of the processor and there is no
ether net port. This means that if you don't have wireless card you
can't get high speed internet. Gerry
