My hat is off to you. I never thought of splitting the roots. Can you write or can a macro be written to chain two roots together after being created? Gerry

Kathleen,

One thing you can do is to set the address as your virtual position. Then use the Explore commands to move from intersection to intersection. You can turn left and right as well so you can develop a mental image of the streets around your address.

If you want to calculate a different automatic route than the system chooses for you, try creating two routes instead of one. Choose a midway point that will create a result more to your liking.
