Please correct me if I'm wrong, but won't it tell you if the thing is on
the left or right if you create a poi (and a waypoint for that matter).?
For instance, if I wre to create apoi like a trash can it'd tell me as I
was walking whether or not it was on the left/r gith. Am I correct?

Also, I have a quick question-- pertaining to my situation on campus
going from a parking lot to that same hall on campus (little). I crated
a manual route (resolved the problem with the sidewalk) and then created
an automatic route to see what it'd do. It made me go all the way cross
campus when the hall was just a it to the right. Why would it make a
really long route? Is this because it was on the maps?

Gil:

Thanks for your response.

While creating waypoints, one can specify either left or right. Is that
possible with POIS?

Cheers.

Jim,

Yes, you're on the right track. You can use a waypoint if you're
marking a point in a manual, walking route. You can also use POIs if
you want individual things marked. Make sure that when you mark
anything you don't use left or right in the description because it
will be wrong when you walk the route in reverse. Use compass
directions like bench. North of path with trash container to the west of
bench
