[gpodder-devel] latest version doesn't run on Ubuntu 8.04

checkinstall is run as an alternative to "make install" to create a local
debian package.
This enables me to cleanly uninstall all files accociated with gpodder.

But I will first try if I can do a local run as told by Thomas.
Again, theis procedure worked well for previous versions.
