[gpodder] What motivated you to develop gPodder?

Hi
May I ask you what was your motivation to create gPodder and what is the
motivation to create QML frontend for desktop?
I'd like to write about it in in my bachelor's thesis so I have to ask
you as you are developers of gPodder.
BTW. Is there any history overview of gPodder or should I walk through
the news on gPodders blog?
