It sounds like the option to include a title page is checked. To change:

Options Menu
Title page options
Press tab to move to the three buttons for setting this option. Choose the
one that says "Never."
Press tab key once and then space bar to save your option as the default

I don't want this in my files however I started seeing it after updating to
the most recent version of the software.
