Finale current includes the XML export/import feature in their File menu.
Sibelius makes you pay extra for the XML export/import add-on.

Hello,
I do not think that this is exactly correct, but the idea is generally
correct. I am not totally sure about this, but I looked into it a couple of
years ago. Sibelius and Finale have add-ons that will allow your teacher to
export the music to XML files, which she can then email to you, and then you
can import them into Lime.
If someone can verify this for me, I would be grateful.

So, let me get this straight. My teacher could type the score or
scan it into Finale and send it to me in an email. I would then
be able to take the attached finale file and import it into Lime
but tell Lime that it's an XML file?
