Hi bill:
I have no problem with the file except the last couple bars that contain 64th
and 32nd notes. Even the file Albert sent still contained the same problems I
had, that is sequential notes crumbled into little chords. I think lime just
jams them together while misinterpreting the short note values in order to keep
the general rhythm of 4/4 alright. I wanted to resolve this one so we don't
have to face it in other pieces, but it looks like we have to wait for some
improvement to take place in future updates of the program.

The latest output Albert showed me looked good to me. GOODFEEL's MIDI file
import did not do well with the 64TH=note passages but Albert did find a way to
filter it through MusicXML. I that's the best we can do with it. Lime's
author continues to work to improve Lime's MusicXML import.

Ok thanks Bill. Btw, did you have a chance to look at the midi file I sent
you. Albert has sent me a version of it that he worked on and the problem
unfortunately still persisted. I replied to him with more input, and am still
waiting for his responce. This is crucial for working on other pieces. Could
you look at it and let me know. The piece is in g minor and the last couple
bars contain a series of single 32nd and 64th notes. So far, Lime crumbles some
of them into double note chords and changes the values of the notes.
Your input is much appreciated.

As far as I know, the Windows version of Lime is the same for everybody,
sighted or blind. It just acts a bit differently depending on whether one has
GOODFEEL installed or not.

I am certainly using the one bundled with GoodFeel since I downloaded it
from the link you provided in an earlier post. I only wanted to know if there
were any changes incorporated in this version to make it more suitable for
braille requirements, is there?

It's always best to use the version of Lime we bundle with our GOODFEEL
release. Currently, it's 9.02 and the version of Lime released from Dr.
Haken's site is 9.00. However, in the past, we were shipping 8.50 while he had
already released 9.00. So 9.02 is definitely your best bet.
The access piece is mainly provided by the JAWS-based Lime Aloud scripts.
Lime itself is smart enough to know when GOODFEEL is around and to act
accordingly.

The MusicXML import feature of Lime is good and quite useful but it is
not yet close to being perfect. In fact,although the developer of Lime
continues to make improvements in Lime's MusicXML import facility, it will
almost certainly never be completely comprehensive. That is because of the
nature of MusicXML itself. Any program can create a MusicXML file containing
almost an infinite variety of information. Programs that read such files are
free to ignore bits of information that they do not recognize.
To put it more simply, there are many "flavors" of MusicXML and
nobody's software will ever recognize all of them. That being said, Lime will
generally give you at least all the correct notes and rhythms from any MusicXML
files that does not crash it! Crashes are fairly rare but still too common.
Improving Lime's MusicXML import function is a high priority for Dr. Haken,
Lime's developer. As he makes improvements, we will incorporate them into the
version of Lime we ship with GOODFEEL.

I wanted to import an XML-file in Lime, which has been created with
Dolet4 of Sibelius and it seems, that it doesn't work for some reasons. The
Dolet4 of Sibelius creates a XML-file version2. What are the XML import limits
of Lime? Importing makes Lime crash with message: "lime.exe has produced an
error" or something like that.
