Dear all,
The docker image has been just uploaded on dockerhub.
You can pull it by the name digitalfreedom/gnukhata:v4.0 and start using
it right away.
However the end-users are highly recommended to wait for the graphical
installer which Abhijith is just making ready.
It will be available in around a couple of hours from now, at the most
till the evening.
Happy hacking.

Dear all.
It's finally here!
Digital Freedom Foundation <www.dff.org.in <http://www.dff.org.in>> is
proud to announce the
release of GNUKhata version 4.
visit <gitlab.com/gnukhata/gkwebapp/milestones/10
<http://gitlab.com/gnukhata/gkwebapp/milestones/10>> to know the great
features our team has added.
For the lazy and impatient, here is a short list of major improvements
and new features. this list is not exhaustive one and you should go to
the link given above for all the details.
* Unified import export,
* new report for stock on hand (with or without godown),
* product stock report (with or without godown),
* sales and purchase order,
* Automated account creation for customers and suppliers,
* linking of invoices to sales and purchase vouchers,
* display of current balance in voucher for selected account.
* activity logs
again please go to the page given in this email for entire list.
I wish to thank all the supporters and our existing customers/ users for
their active support and feedback which has brought us a long way.
I also wish to express my gratitude and a million thanks to the entire
GNUKhata team.
A special thanks is
to Mr. Kelkar for giving brillient ideas and patiently being a part of
those brain storming sessions.
Prajakta deserves a special thanks and a bravo for her great management
work and the kind of intensive testing she has been doing.
We had some unexpected surprises like when our developer Rohini got the
invoice and voucher integration programmed in just a day.
Also thanks a million to Abhijith and Tallah for sitting late night for
the release and finally carrying it through.
I must say that another big surprise came when a feature called
consolidated balance sheet was taken up as a challenge by our two intern
programmers, Prabjyot and Rahul.
Both you guys are doing a great work.
Our Senior intern programmers, Vaibhav and Bhavesh have been the
backbone of the entire release cycle and have at times stormed into the
programming sprints and completed huge tasks in unbelievable record time.
Pornima, thanks for contributing and finally helping complete the
purchase and sales order module.
However all this would have never been possible if ICFOSS had not funded
the project in such a big way.
Thanks to ICFOSS and it's director Dr. Jaishankar who has profoundly
funded and supported GNUKhata to bring it to this level.
It is indeed a great venture which we are now going to strengthen this
year due to more funding available.
we are in the porcess of making the installers ready.
The release as you all know would have happened a few hours before, but
we wished to give our last chance and had a go at database upgradation.
And what more would we expect when we now got it working to perfection!
We will announce as soon as the docker immages are ready.
Those who know to use git can certainly pull GNUKhata from our
repository and use it right away.
Also the demo is up and running with the latest release and you all can
try it to see what all is in the offering.
From this year we will have quarterly releases.
This means that we will have a version 4.25 by the end of June, 4.5 by
the end of September, 4.75 by December end and 5.0 by March next year.
Sure there would be minor updates if slight bugs are discovered, but
they will in no way be an upgrade with any new features.
New features will be only added under the release policy I just explained.
Hope you all will love this version of GNUKhata.
Happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
