Hi
Ok so now gnukhata is working on LM 17.3
The only change between between the period not working and working is that
i uninstalled openjdfk and installed oracle java -
this was because Income Tax software seems to run on either Microsoft Excel
or Java
Since then gnukhata is working
Am unsure why this is ?
screenshot attached
kind regards
ram

Hi
The LM 17 series are all based on 14.04
while LM 18 onwards will be based on 16.04, you are correct
to quote wikipedia
The 18.x series will follow the pattern set by the 17.x series, by using
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS as a base.
So if my fresh attempt does not work in LM 17.3 then will download 18 x
series and try on that.

Am trying on a Dell latitude with a fresh install of LM 17.3
We installed and ran GNUKhata successfully in Linux Mint 17.3 and Linux
Mint 18 on our desktop.

You may try stopping the docker service and then starting it again.
sudo service docker stop
sudo service docker start
Wait for a minute or two and launch GNUKhata.
I got it running like this once when I had problems. I haven't been able
to find out why this happens.
$ sudo service docker stop
docker stop/waiting
$ sudo service docker start
docker start/running, process 10419
waited about 5 minutes
the issue remains the same
localhost - Problem loading page /Unable to connect
Then we would like to have a look at your machine. Do let us know when we
can do that.
This is really veared, just got a confirmation from couple more people
running mint and they are doing absolutely fine.
Secondly I am very confident that Ubuntu 16.04 is also doing good.
Meaning if you run it on the version of Mint that goes with 16.04 then it
should work.
This implies that Mint 18 is the distro.
Happy hacking.
