For all those who are curious.
This latest version of GNUKhata would give you easy GST invoice
creation, credit and debit note creation default chart of accounts and
so on.
What's more important is that GNUKhata will automatically make
accounting entries for your sales and purchases. Accounting entries are
what auditors need for filing returns.
I am explaining this for non-accountants.
Every one needs to generate balance sheet and profit & loss reports.
For this you need to make accounting entries in various ledgers.
With GNUKhata you just need to make your GST or non-GST invoices and
forget about those accounting entries, GNUKhata does them automatically
for you.
You also have a very user friendly receipt and payment management
system. Again no need of learning all the Drs and Crs to do. Here too
GNUKhata manages them automatically.
We will be soon organizing workshops for small or micro businesses,
shops, pharmacy owners, courier service providers or even NGOs.
As for the upgradation process, it is a bit tricky.
If you are using invoicing and the inventory module and if you are going
to prefer the auto vouchering system then you will have to create
individual product sales and product purchase accounts manaually for all
the products you had created in version 5.0.
For example if you had a product called shirts then you create a shirts
sale account in direct income and shirts purchase in direct expense.
You also have to create the necessary GST accounts using edit profile.
In addition yo you have to set as default one bank and one cash account
for your transactions.
I would request Prajkta to make a small note about this and formally
publish.
