I don't know if bypassing the host for dsp <--> GUI communication could be
intercepted by a validation tool, but I too am very glad that the
"validation tools" got into the spec alright:

Req 114:   The GMPI SDK must provide a tool or suite of tools to perform
basic plugin validation.

BTW, should we also add something for host validation? Or did we assume this
would be much less of a problem and hance dropped that (can't remember, but
I find it strange now that it's missing)?
