That's OK.  That's we need to write a standard interleave/mapping converter.
We're not really talking differences in format here, a la WAVEFORMATEX.
Just variations on interleaved vs. non-interleaved floats vs. doubles.

And one if its drawbacks is by forcing uninterleaved mono floats it prevents
effective use of SIMD in multi-channel plugins that are chained in sequence.
