I'd like to chime in and add my support for what Chris just said.
Removing the ability to mark times in the future would be short sighted,
in my opinion, especially when dealing with music time.

Hoo boy, obviously I picked the wrong week to not monitor this
reflector!

Only because I wasn't around to counter that movement. ;-)

Seriously, I would like to say that I think that it would be a
serious mistake to preclude the possibility of GMPI plug-ins that can
manipulate event streams, i.e. by re-scheduling events, or creating
new future events. If this means that a different kind of time
representation, i.e. other than those that are ordinarily used for
event execution, needs to be exposed to the plug-in, then so be it.
