On, I only meant you agreed that an arbitrary subsample definition was not useful :) I did notice the "later" and did not assume agreement there.

And no, I think this is a completely reasonable discussion. I just would really like to be able to pass my own native host quanta down to the plugins and make them deal with it, and my own quanta is sub-audio sample. But I'll understand if I lose that argument...
