I don't know of any serious "audio/MIDI" hosts that can't sync to 
external machines. Supporting this thing would be a matter of getting 
the sync input from a local plugin instead of the internal sequencer, 
an external MIDI device or something else.

BTW, you'll need both positional data and tempo for this to be useful.
