Yes. However, keep in mind that plugins must not assume that this 
actually works, because it may not if DSP and GUI are on different 
machines.

(I say *may* because there are NICs that function like extremely low 
latency shared memory between machines, on the hardware level. These 
are generally found in cluster supercomputers and other networks with 
extreme bandwidth and/or latency requirements.)
