What about this one:
4. What is GMPI's benefit for it's users and/or developers?
GMPI is intended to define a plugin format that provides means to
a) be able to sit on top of existing semi-proprietary standards (VST,
DX, TDM, RTAS etc) to allow for a single, easy to maintain codebase
(i.e. compatibility level)
b) extends those formats by means of a modern architecture when
implemented fully in host applications (i.e. native level)
to aim a destinct target namely
c) to solve the problems arising from the current format jungle
d) to be _the_ reference platform for an intended transitional phase
until GMPI hopefully establishes like once MIDI did
I don't see this as a strict design goal, but merely as a kind of
emphasize of a spirit
;) Urs
