Not entirely, but I see no reason not to provide metadata that doesn't require any program execution to get at, if for no other reason that user convenience. -- Having something available in human-readable form (even if it's originally generated by a probe utility) could have a number of uses. Should it absolutely be included in the GMPI spec? I don't know.so, basically, your position is that loading a DLL should be considered, to all effects and purposes, to be equivalent to instantiating a plugin, and that its therefore unacceptable to do this as part of a discovery mechanism?
