yes DWORD is only used by Windows, and in the Windows world, the DWORD is a
32 bit unsigned integer since the Window 2.0 to the next XP64 , because
again it has been defined platform independent ...

if you don't think it's a standart, personnaly i don't care , DWORD , uint32
or U32 or GMPI_TYPE_32BIT_UNSIGNED_FOR_DUMBWHOWILLASK_IFITS_AN_INTEGER
is also ok for me :-)
