Hi

B) Plugins can have random read OR write access to another tempoMap
(coming from a plugin or NOT, like say the host's main sequencer)
->This is in VST module Architecture 1.0.<-

David, VST 1.0 supports random read/write of tempo maps by plugins? When
I asked the VST dev list about this a long while back, noone (of those
who replied) thought it was possible. Is it in the specs, but no host as
implemented support for it??

For that example i referred to the "new" Steinberg API announced at last NAMM
thats is separated from the VST 2.x branch:

http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/3rdparty/vst_modules_sdk/index.php? sid=2b849b47b8d4d7311a7bc4220201f0ce

Basically instead of supporting VST 2.x-based MIDI FXs like many of us wished
they created a whole new APi based on COM-like interfaces.
It think its pretty obvious that VST 3.0 (if it ever comes out) will be based
on that and not 2.x backward compatibility.

Right now this API is NOT open for other hosts to implement.
Which is a very odd move imho.
