I'm doing that every now and then - including unoptimized SDL and GGI 
apps that literally pump full windows of pixmap data to the X server 
- but I'm very rarely using Windows these days.

Either way, I suspect Windows is not nearly as broken as some people 
suggest. I mean, it's supposed to actually be usable as a server OS, 
after all... I was just trying to point out that even if it *was* 
that bad, there are solutions, at least for some cases.
