i never said that linux is better than windoows in the general sense
of what most people mean by "better".

i pointed out that your claims about process "protection" being
responsible for slow IPC and context switching are wrong, and that
there is nothing novel, unique or even interesting about how windows
does that.


ok so what's responsible for the bad windows IPC to you?

I don't really think they're running some empty loop just to slow down their system & annoy people.



i am not interested in engaging in an OS war. i also do not want GMPI
messed up by specific aspects of the way that any particular OS works,
regardless of whether that OS is Windows, Linux, OSX, LynxOS, QNX or
anything else. we stated from the outset that it is required to be a
cross-platform plugin API.


then you have to consider what a specific OS was made for or not
