Not in an offline-editing system like Sound Forge... or even many current
DAWs (Logic Audio springs to mind).

Not very nicely put :) but yep, "nudging" the graph when a change happens
"offline" might be a way. Not nice if the graph has a notion of being
"paused" though (i.e. maintaining time and internal buffer state whilst
not actually runnig)... not sure if pause is an important feature tho'.
