The problem with this is that it would need to be standardized for hosts.
Then the whole MiG versus NMiG thing is spawned again.

Just something to note (both sides of this debate)...

Imagine GMPI had some advanced form of MIDI note control (music
data)....what would be the *bare* minimum work to support that?...

- floating point parameters
- sample accurate parameter changes
- ability to 'group' parameters ( by voice in this case )

We *already* have all those.  Ron's friend said...

"Given that you are defining an extremely flexible parameter model, you
could simply define an advanced music representation within this model side
by side with MIDI"

He's right, Is he the only one who sees this?.

 If some members of this group want to define a non-MIDI note representation
using GMPI's existing facilities, nothing's stopping us (we don't have to
right now, just understand it's an option).
