Hi,

I've been following the discussions in this list with interest as I am part of a group developing an open-source cross-platform multi-language real-time video effects API called Freeframe. The plugins are mainly intended for VJ ('visual jockey') applications such as VJamm ( http://www.vjammpro.com) and EffecTV (http://www.sourcforge.net/projects/effectv).

We have agreed the first public version of the API - v0.5 which has been tested on Windows, Linux and OSX using GCC, MSVC and Delphi. Apologies if the documentation is unclear, that's my job over the coming weeks!
The plan for the future is to incorporate audio effects to achieve linked audio visual effects, a long time goal of our development team, so supporting GMPI may well be the best way to go.
The license for the API specification and example code is based on the BSD license for maximum openness. Many of the plugins are released under the LGPL. Hopefully the license chosen for GMPI will allow support to be included in our project.

Good luck!

Marcus Clements
