No. People use hard disk recording, not MIDI, when they must care about the
limitations of MIDI. Or they use OSC.

Apples and oranges.  We're talking about music on a computer here, Paul.
If you are using your computer for music, and you aren't using it as a
tape recorder, you are using MIDI.
