Of course not.  I know it's been a long flame already, but don't build a
strawman of that magnitude.  We (non-MIDI camp) have always advocated that
the HOST receives the MIDI and turns it into GMPI native control.

Everything that you do today with your MIDI keyboards and knob boxes and
sliders will work EXACTLY the same to an end user.

Hosts will need to grow up, that's all.
