I'm a UNIX developer and I have zero financial interest in supporting Windows. I write my plugin code to be (more or less) portable across UNIX platforms and it turns out that some of them have been ported to Windows, but not without a fair ammount of effort. We're not going to get cross platform code merely by waving the dictatorial paw. > If needed, we start a working group to investigate/develop cross platform > libraries (GMPI-GUI). Well standardising an IPC mechanism which out of process UIs can use to talk to the host is much simpler. I agree we shouldn't be trying to define a toolkit though - there are enough of those, and I doubt GMPI mandating one will be any more successful than previous efforts to restrict toolkit choice (vstgui, directx, whatever's under win32 these days). - Steve ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Generalized Music Plugin Interface (GMPI) public discussion list Participation in this list is contingent upon your abiding by the following rules: Please stay on topic.
