To CHROME teachers, students, parents, and others who are involved with
students who are exploring or want to explore STEM careers fields !!!
Registration is now open for the annual bus trips to VA Tech to explore
engineering and computer science!
Students who are currently High School Sophomores & Juniors (Grades 10 &11)
have until March 9, 2020 to apply for participation in the Recruiting
Initiative for Student Engineers (RISE)
<https://eng.vt.edu/ceed/ceed-pre-college-programs/rise.html> series of
free bus trips to the campus of VA Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Sophomores who
register and are accepted for RISE will attend the Spring Football Game and
College of Engineering (COE) tailgate on the campus of VA Tech in
Blacksburg, VA. Juniors who register and are accepted for RISE will attend
the Engineering Open House

campus of VA Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Both sophomores and juniors will be
invited back to a series of career awareness events and activities sponsored
by the VT COE up through their senior year of high school. Food and lodging,
as well as transportation for students traveling from Tidewater, Richmond,
and Northern Virginia are provided free of charge.

sponsored by the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED)

(COE). CEED has historically provided encouragement and support to

under-represented populations (especially minorities and girls) pursuing
engineering and computer science career fields.
