*Cooperating Hampton Roads Organizations for Minorities in Engineering (CHROME) Special Event* The *2014 CHROME Sponsor Launch* <http://www.chrome.org/events/chrome-sponsor-launch-2014/> is a one day, free teacher training event that will provide training and free supplies and materials to 100 K-12 teachers. The day will focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. The training will also will feature opportunities for about 25 participating teachers to learn the SCRATCH programs at the Norfolk State University's Gaming and Simulation Lab. The 2014 CHROME Sponsor Launch will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Robinson Technology Center (RTC) at Norfolk State University (map <http://goo.gl/maps/cDlhK>). The free event will run from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. But you must register to attend! Teachers will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Jeff Edmondson, a meteorologist from WAVY-TV 10 who will teach a Weather Safety Class. Also featured will be Gamiel "Dan" Cherry of the NASA Langley Research Center Office of Education. Dan will share information on the STEM-based educational resources and development programs offered by NASA for teachers and students. This years keynote address will be delivered by Ms. Carol Pugh, Production Group Superintendent of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Many other speakers and workshops will be featured.
