The Greater Hampton Roads Regional Black Alumni Council
(GHRRBAC) of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association
cordially invites you to join us for our
2008 VT Student Send-Off Social / Bowling Party.
 
Come out and have fun as we meet-and-greet incoming
African-American and Hispanic/Latino freshmen from the
Hampton Roads area who will be starting school in the fall.
Meet local AA alumni, current students, and our 
newest "VT Hokies" while bowling and having fun. Relax and
enjoy the conversation as we share our VA Tech
experiences and offer our support to these
wonderful students.
 
What:

        6th Annual VT Student Send-Off Social / Bowling
        Party for Incoming & Returning African-American
        and Hispanic/Latino Students and Alumni
 
When:

        Sunday, July 27, 2008
        3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

        AMF - Chesapeake Lanes
        112 Medical Pkwy E
        Chesapeake, VA 23320

        (Located off Battlefield Blvd, just across from
        Chesapeake General Hospital)
 
Cost:

        FREE for New & Current VT students
        $8.00 per person for alumni, family, & friends
        $50.00 for Lane Sponsors (see sponsor request below)
      
RSVP required. RSVP by July 24, 2008 with total # of 
persons in your party, including the # of current and
new VT students.

In order to offer the event free to students, VT alumni are
asked to sponsor bowling lanes -or- food purchases. Lane
sponsorship is $50 per lane for six bowlers. Alumni with
similar majors or professions are encouraged to
join together and sponsor lanes (e.g., the Chemistry Lane).
Other sponsored lane creativity is encouraged (e.g. the
Smith Family, etc).
 
In previous years, we've had excellent turn out from alumni,
current and incoming students and their families. The bowling
was fun, as well as competitive! Please come out and show
your support to these new and returning African-American 
and Hispanic/Latino VT students.

Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Chesapeake -or- take I-664 South
to I-64 West toward Chesapeake. From I-64 in Chesapeake,
take Exit 290B onto Battlefield Blvd North (RT 168 South)
towards Great Bridge. As you pass Chesapeake General
Hospital, turn left onto Medical Pkwy East. Look for
AMF - Chesapeake Lanes.
 
From Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Portsmouth/Suffolk:
 
Take I-64 toward Chesapeake/Great Bridge. Take
Exit 290B onto Battlefield Blvd North (RT 168 South)
towards Great Bridge. As you pass Chesapeake General
Hospital, turn left onto Medical Pkwy East. Look for
AMF - Chesapeake Lanes.
